Former Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Randal Quarles appointed as Vice Chairman of the Global Advisory Board of Gulf Bank in Singapore
According to Reuters, Singapore Gulf Bank announced today that former Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Randal Quarles has been appointed as Vice Chairman of its newly established Global Advisory Board to assist the digital bank in advancing its internationalization strategy. The chairman of the advisory committee is Amy Lee, founder of Whampoa Group. The committee also includes Fan Min, co-founder of China's largest online travel agency Ctrip, Louis Cheung, founding CEO of Boyu Capital, Shaikh Mohamed Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Beyon Digital, and Wu Jihan, Chairman of Matrixport. Gulf Bank, supported by Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat and Singapore's Whampoa Group, is the first fully licensed pure digital bank in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It can accept customers online worldwide and is authorized to provide services to cryptocurrency customers.
