Ethereum developers discuss the Free DA issue caused by EIP-7886 and its corresponding solutions

BlockBeats News: On May 6th, Ethereum developer @ nero'eth posted an article discussing "delayed execution and free DA issues". Delay execution (EIP-7886) changes the verification process: validators authenticate block validity through pre checks (such as nonce, balance) before the transaction is fully executed. If a transaction becomes invalid due to insufficient balance during execution (for example, transaction A exhausts account B's balance, resulting in B's transaction B being unable to pay gas), its data has been written into the block and processed by the verifier, but no fees have been paid. This leads to Free DA issues: invalid transactions occupy on chain data availability resources, and validators are not compensated. The article proposes four solutions: optimistic authentication, pre verification and pre charging, and no operation at the pre charging entity and execution layer. These solutions ensure that data writing incurs costs through pre withholding fees, block restructuring, or state rollback, preventing network congestion and economic injustice caused by Free DA.
