According to official announcements, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand will block unlicensed digital asset trading platforms such as Bybit, 1000X, CoinEx, OKX, and XT.COM from June 28, 2025, in accordance with the Royal Technology Crime Prevention and Control Act 2025 (2nd edition). The regulatory agency stated that after investigation, the above-mentioned platform is suspected of operating without a license in violation of the 2018 Royal Digital Asset Business Act, and the case has been transferred to the Economic Crime Strike Bureau for handling. This measure aims to protect investors and curb illegal platforms from becoming channels for money laundering, and the Department of Digital Economy and Social Security will implement network blockades. Thailand continues to tighten its cryptocurrency regulation, and in April 2025, it has added enforcement powers for technology crime prevention and control laws.
